Cirencester friendly began life in 1890 as the Cirencester Conservative Association Working Men's Benefit Society. Today it is one of the country's leading providers of income protection. The Society was created using 'Holloway Principles' established and promoted by Mr George Holloway of Stroud, Gloucestershire. A man who rose from humble beginnings to one of influence and greater good, and who, for some years, served as M.P. for Stroud in Parliament.
Primarily formed for the benefit of agricultural workers based in Gloucestershire, today the Society caters for the income protection needs of tens of thousands of customers from all walks of life from across the UK. The philosophy is simple. As a mutual organisation, with no issued share capital quoted on a stock exchange, it is run for the benefit of Members who have the right to participate in the running of the Society.
Income Assured Plus, the Society's income protection product, offers an affordable and flexible way in which to replace a proportion of your pay from work should illness or accidental injury stop you from working and earning a living. Income Assured Plus allows you to choose from a number of options to create a bespoke income protection contract with the right cover to suit your needs. As well as providing income protection, there is the option to include the 'investment option' to build up a cash sum payable at death or your selected retirement age.
